Principal Power Field Applications Engineer (San Jose CA)

We are seeking a Principal Power FAE to work out of our R&D headquarters in San Jose CA. If you thrive in a dynamic collaborative environment and are ready to shape the future of power management wed love to hear from you!

Core Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

The position will be responsible for supporting customers designs from start to finish and influence the direction of the company with defining future requirements.The role of an expert Field Applications engineer is to be a trusted advisor and consultant for system level evaluation simulation design in and bring up of Empower solutions into customer systems. It includes developing board level power solutions ranging from demonstration platforms to custom solutions for a wide range of applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing high power point of load (POL) solutions for SoC processors and xPUs with experience in power integrity analysis.

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum 15 years of experience in board level power design
BSEE required; MSEE in power electronics preferred
Proven track record of fostering long term relationships with strategic customers based on trust expertise and professionalism
Knowledge of DCDC converter system design and analysis
Handson experience with laboratory equipment
Experience in PCB design and optimization (schematic and layout using Cadence Preferred Allegro OrCAD)
Experience using simulation and design tools including Spice Simplis ADS and other SI/PI tools.
Experience in PDN and power integrity analysis a plus
Knowledge of programming languages and tools for automated testing and prototyping such as python
