Responsibilities

Provides support services to severely emotionally disturbed or disabled adult behavioral health clients in order to meet the individual needs of the clients to coordinate treatment to assist the client with achieving the best possible functional level to maximize symptom selfmanagement and to enhancing quality of life and recovery. Provides leadership in the recovery model for staff at all levels.

The BH Clinician will be working every Saturday & Sunday 8a8p.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides consultation guidance and leadership to patients and staff in the emergency departments.
  • Provides consultation to inpatient patients as referred for evaluation and placement of care recommendations.
  • Assist in the diagnosis 1013/2013 assessment and ongoing management risk assessments and placement of patients in the emergency department and inpatient floors.
  • Ensures assigned behavioral health patients have adequate discharge plans for care.
  • Support psychiatrists and advanced practice nurses in their role within the medical model.
  • Participates in the quality improvement process by identifying programmatic issues collecting data used to monitor quality and analyzing information.
  • Provides inservices workshops and educational services to nonBH staff to assist with behavioral health care within the hospital system.
  • Maintains working knowledge of regulatory requirements including TJC Medicare Medicaid State of Georgia and other payers. Is a knowledgeable leader of programmatic changes in State of Georgia expectations.
  • Assumes leadership role in a crisis.
  • Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the BHS Clinician III
  • Completes clinical documentation to meet standards of care and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  1. Masters degree from an accredited program in Social Work Psychology Counseling or related mental health discipline with an emphasis on clinical experience.
  2. Three years experience past Masters in the mental health field.
  3. Licensed as a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) LMFT (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist) or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
  4. Must be CPR certified.


PREFERRED:

  1. Prior clinical experience providing outpatient mental health or inpatient psychiatric services.
