Job Description

Electrical Engineers are a core component of the development team serving as the technical authority for hardware development while working to deliver best in class products. Electrical Engineers work closely with Firmware Engineers System Engineers Quality Engineers Program Managers external partners and the customers to stay on the leading edge of technology and innovation while ensuring the team is delivering a product that our customer can trust his/her life with.

Roles & Responsibilities
Advanced Hardware Design & Architecture:
  • Leads the design of complex boards or subsystems (multilayer PCBs highspeed interfaces advanced power management).
  • To ensure robust designs perform signal integrity analysis power integrity checks and thermal considerations.
SystemLevel Integration & DFM/DFT
  • Works closely with Firmware Mechanical Systems Engineering and Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware integration and resolve crossdisciplinary issues.
  • Integrates designformanufacturability and designfortest considerations (e.g. component spacing test points production yields).
Simulation & Functional Safety and EMC
  • Comfortable using SPICE (Frequency Sweeps Parameter Sweeps Thermal Profiles) simulation tools to mitigate potential issues before creating boards.
  • Designs with safety in mind and understands SPF & LPF (Preferred)
  • Guides compliance planning (EMC EMI ESD) and assists in official certification testing (CE RE ESD etc..
Documentation & Communication:
  • Creates comprehensive design documents and test plans from functional specifications and product requirements supports documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to the development of detailed interface control documents
  • Communicates technical topics effectively to nonhardware stakeholders including project managers and product owners.
  • Communicate the status of assigned work including current progress estimated time to completion risks and any required software equipment tools etc. necessary to accomplish assigned work.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of statements of work budgets schedules and risk assessments.
  • Develop work packages for PCB subcontractors and support onsite supplier quality audits and interface with subcontractors as required.
Leadership & Mentorship:
  • Mentors junior and midlevel engineers.
  • Supports the development of team members by providing constructive technical feedback.
  • Demonstrates the ability to receive and act on constructive feedback.
  • Fosters a collaborative environment helping to raise the technical skill of the team.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal tact when working with others.
  • Understands that it is critical to act as a united team during external meetings and demonstrates that understanding.
  • Conducts thorough design reviews emphasizing best practices for robust design.
  • May lead small project teams coordinating tasks and deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be proficient in embedded design utilizing highly efficient components for battery powered devices.
  • Must be proficient in schematic capture software understanding of Altium a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft 365 Teams).
  • Proficiency in using board management and defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA GIT)
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience with military standards specifically MILSTD461 and MILSTD810.
  • Experience with laser systems night vision/imaging systems or target location systems.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regular onsite attendance is a necessary function of this position.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally for handling parts and prototypes.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform physical tests and handle tools/equipment used for prototyping
