POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is responsible to develop & qualify new components processes and suppliers supporting issues with current production outsourcing increase capacity and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance. Make all necessary coordination between departments to ensure flawless launches with suppliers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.
He will be responsible for:
- Responsible to manage RFX activities with suppliers and sourcing decisions for the buying site.
- Prepare the project time line with organizing the kick off meeting with suppliers and other stakeholders to drive feasibility reports capacity sign off submission of the cost effective quotations for child parts within the defined time line.
- Supervises the supplier APQP approach in order to meet part QCD conformances. Ensure all the related responsibilities are completed on time in line with customer / program schedule. To get aligned with team member to improve efficiency adapting the Gates Production system.
- Develop and improve cost methodology for timely quotations and vendor evaluation. Identify and evaluate new suppliers for advanced manufacturing technologies to deliver improvements in cost lead time and quality.
- Collaborate with certain suppliers on a onetoone basis to improve their performance for the benefit of the buying organization. Educating suppliers for continual improvement for the price reduction by VAVE activities.
- Analyses and updates appropriate supplier data which highlight problems trends and opportunities for improvement in the system. This includes monitoring data for customer returns s and internal problems related to RM/child parts.
- Maintain effective communications with all Departments & subordinates. Use interactive management principles. Escalate to next level when faced with discipline issues with human resources do not give room for confrontation
- Compliance with company IATF16949 and ISO9001 requirements to follow company procedure working instruction and other registered documents in management systems Compliance and implementation with applicable company HSE policy law & regulations ISO14001 and ISO 45001 management system
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent reports to Director Sourcing East Asia & India and support him in all daytoday operations to achieve the business objectives of the company.
- Interacts closely with cross functional team including Program management team plant System Engineering team SQA SCM & inhouse Quality. Leads & ensure conformance to the specified material and product requirements for newly developed parts.
- Coordinates with overseas affiliates.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
- Total work experience of 10 years exposure in development of parts related to die casting stamping forging & machining. Solid understanding of metal manufacturing including casting sheetmetal machining and coatings & Engineering drawing.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with staff at all levels good presentation skills
- Focus safety Quality system. Set standards and ensure the team operates to the defined standards
- Good problemsolving skills
- Ability to work out the cost of a component from drawing select the best process & manufacturing capabilities in order to meet low cost with best quality not compromising on time lines.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes HSE standards & Quality standards.
- Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices
- Able to make effective decisions under pressure
- Able to work to deadlines a willingness to work flexi
