Job Description
8yearsormoreofrelevantexperienceintheIndustrial/Chemical Industry preferred.Experienceshouldincludedesignengineering (CAD not required)regulatorycomplianceelectricalpowercontrol troubleshootingconstructioninspectioncommissioningsupportandproposalorbusiness developmentsupport.Experienceshouldalsoinclude:drivesMVmotorsutilityrequirementsfor industrialuserstransformer&switchgeardesignsoftstartersUSandInternationalcodesand standards(ATEXNECULetc.)programminglowvoltageMCCindustrialheaters
plantdesign.
Responsibilitiesinclude:developmentofsinglelinediagramsandschematicdrawings;developing purchasespecifications;obtainingvendorquotes;preparingelectricalconstructionspecifications; performingbidevaluations;approvingvendordrawings;supervisingstartuptestingand commissioningofelectricalequipmentinstallationsinnewprocessplantsincludinghydrogenplants ASUsandothergasplants;contributingtoplantproposalsforbusinessdevelopment;coordination withallotherdisciplinesandconstructionmanagementduringplantdesignandconstruction. Responsibilitiesalsoincludesupervisionofdesignerstaskedwith
producingdrawingsand documentationforaprojectaswellasactiveparticipationinthedesignactivities.
Projectsmayinclude:
Coordinationwithutilityforinstallationofnewplantsincludingnewsubstations; powersystemstudiesforvoltagedroploadflowshortcircuitandrelaycoordination;developing substationpackages;installationtestingandcommissioningofhighvoltagesubstations;new installationorreplacementoflargesynchronousmotorsupto30000HP;reviewdesigncalculationsfor loadflowshortcircuitArcFlashandrelaycoordinationincludingvoltagedropcalculationsduring startingoflargemotors;installationof
switchgeartransformersVFDsUPSdieselgeneratorsand batteriesandbatterychargers.
Troubleshootingmayinclude:evaluationofequipmentbreakdowns;analysisofplanttrips;rootcause analysis;creatingreportsforLessonsLearnedforcontinuousimprovement;providing
emergency supportduringplanttripstorestartaplantandbringittooperatingconditions.
Otheractivitiesmayinclude:performingplantreliabilityauditsevaluationsofexistingelectrical equipment;preparingcostestimationsforupgrades;andevaluationofhazardousareaclassifications especiallyforHydrogenplantsincludingliquidH2dispensingunits.
MusthavetheabilitytoreadstandardPipingandInstrumentationDiagramsandhavefamiliaritywith viewing3Dmodels.Excellentcommunicationandlanguageskillsarerequired.
PE license a plus
Industrial Gas exp a plus
Exp working with 5K HP motors or 350 KW Equipmentor larger (sizing specs buying)
Exp with large motors and medium voltage
Travel about 5 (usually 12 days. Once every couple of years might have a 23 week trip)
