POSITION SUMMARY:

The Resident Care Assistant (R.C.A. job entails the ability to provide residents with comfort safety and personal care while meeting all life enrichment needs in an assisted living and memory care environment. The R.C.A. also provides assistance with all household responsibilities including activities dining light housekeeping activities of daily living (ADL) and other duties as assigned. The R.C.A. is required to be knowledgeable in Alzheimers and dementia care and effectively communicate with residents living with the disease. Attendance at meetings and ongoing dementia training is required. The R.C.A. is responsible for managing resident medication and treatment according to the physicians orders. The R.C.A. must be able to be an effective part of household team initiate tasks and work independently if necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
2. High school diploma or equivalent required.
3. 12 years of experience working with the elderly and/or experience working in a residential care facility for the elderly (RCFE) preferred.
4. Must have a basic first aid and CPR card. Required to obtain within the first month of employment. Must maintain an active certification during employment.
5. Medication Training Certificate is required and must be obtained within the first month of employment. Must demonstrate proper medication monitoring and maintain an active certification during employment.
6. Must successfully complete required dementia care training upon hire and annually thereafter.
7. C.N.A. certification preferred.
8. Point Click Care (PCC) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.
9. Must have selfmotivation. Able to initiate tasks as instructed.
10. Understand and demonstrate proper use of documentation.
11. Understand proper hydration and nutrition and how it relates to the elderly and those living with memory impairment.
12. Basic computer knowledge and experience preferred.
13. Must be friendly patient and compassionate when dealing with residents.
14. Must be 18 years old or older.
15. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check physical and TB test.
16. Must have valid CA Drivers License and employment authorization document.
17. Ability to read write and communicate to residents staff families vendors and all business relationships in English language.
18. Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff in an effective neutral and professional manner.
19. Ability to function as a member of the team in a multitask environment.
20. Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities with the ability to adjust to high pressure and changing business conditions.

All Caregivers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID19 with their booster shot if eligible.
