Job description
The Helix School is seeking experienced creative and dynamic Substitute Special Education Teacher. The Helix School is located in San Rafael. We serve autistic children in grades K Transition. We offer our students a safe environment where they can build upon their strength while supporting them as they grow in their own awareness and knowledge develop skills and deepen their social skills. Our integrated curriculum is tailored to the students developmental level sensory processing differences and emotionalregulatory needs. At The Helix School we emphasize our students capabilities and provide motivationbased kinesthetic and sensorybased functional socialemotional and academic learning.
- Responsibilities:
- Working with head teacher Counselor Speech Therapist SocialEmotional Learning Specialist and/or Occupational Therapist for 1:1 delivery of special education plans and daily instruction
- Assisting the head teacher and others on the students team in preparing and presenting academic plan
- Provide behavioral support to student when needed
- Under direction of teachers and therapists collect data as needed.
- 2 years working with children (special education strongly preferred)
- Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and
- Experience in handson teaching delivery
