The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking Adjunct Faculty for our Aviation Studies Program. The Aviation Adjunct Faculty will be primarily responsible for the delivery of a quality education in aviation studies. The faculty member will employ effective teaching practices to ensure student are equipped for success.
We seek a colleague who is team oriented and willing to assist the West Liberty Universitys Aviation Program and its mission to provide students an opportunity to get a commercial pilots license. Candidates should have a commitment to excellence in teaching scholarship and service.
Responsibilities:
- Compiles administers evaluates and grades student class work laboratory work assignments tests and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.
- Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi assignments and handouts.
- Maintains accurate student records to including grades attendance conduct and other required records specific to the program.
- Attends necessary faculty meetings professional developments and trainings.
- Stays entuned with industry developments by reading collaborating and attending conferences.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors or masters Degree Aeronautical Science Aviation Management or related fields
- Preferred Valid FAA pilots certification with endorsements including:
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
- Certified Flight Instructor
- Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
- At Least three years experience in the Aviation Industry
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- Experience leading and managing others in an academic setting through transparency and collaboration.
