QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Primary purpose of this position is to implement of fundraising programs campaigns and activities for the IRSC Foundation with specific responsibility for the Major Gifts and Planned Giving. To identify cultivate solicit and steward leadership gifts; successfully stewarding donors to increased engagement and planned giving. Will work closely with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and the development staff in the development of major and planned gifts strategies and provide leadership and support to Development Directors and Associate Development Directors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bachelors degree required with seven years of experience in a professional fundraising environment preferred.
- Evidence of a successful track record of securing funding and leadership of successful advancement efforts with considerable successful experience in Major Gifts and Planned Giving at an institution of higher learning.
- Knowledge of the Indian River State College service district (Martin St. Lucie Okeechobee and Indian River Counties) community and nonprofit sector with specific knowledge of Martin and St. Lucie Counties preferred. Certification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to close; proven fundraising track record with experience identifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding highlevel donors.
- Demonstrate high levels of drive ownershipmentality and selfmotivation while working collaboratively with larger team to achieve overarching goals.
- Flexibility to shift focus rapidly in a fastpaced deadline driven environment; strong work ethic.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer technology including applications for project and data management and electronic calendars. CRM required Raisers Edge preferred. Windows Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook required. Ability to quickly learn software specific to the department or institution. Ability to oversee data quality and reporting.
- Strong written (including proof reading and editing) and oral communication skills including the ability to briefly summarize the essence of issues and means to address them.
- Proven leadership/supervisory capabilities; Use sound judgment and discretion in handling and securing sensitive and confidential information as well as the ability to conduct oneself in a highly professional manner. Understanding of and commitment to professional fundraising ethical standards
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Plan coordinate and implement the resource development mission and goals of the IRSC Foundation.
- Assuming a supervisory role in the planning and implementation of all fundraising programs campaigns and activities for the Foundation with specific responsibility for the Major Gifts and Planned Giving
- Encourages contributions through endowments trusts donations of giftsinkind or bequests with knowledge of ethical legal and tax implications involved in estate giving.
- Makes solicitations for private donor support corporate giving and public funding resources for the Foundation and to benefit the College and its students.
- Build relationships with donors and ensure all major giving donors receive appropriate consistent recognition and an accounting of the impact of their gift on the organization.
- Research and contact prospective donors and financial advisors to develop a pipeline of longterm support.
- Produce high quality proposals reports and other cultivation solicitation and stewardship materials as needed.
- Enter and track all activities actions call reports and deadlines in Raisers Edge database and other tracking systems.
- Make qualification calls/visits cultivate solicit recognize and steward donors appropriately emphasizing those that have given or are capable of giving $50000.
- Develop and implement a thoughtful strategy for each prospect/donor including ways to increase involvement in university activities. Utilize both current and planned gift opportunities to best meet donors needs philanthropic interests and financial capabilities.
- Build a broad base of fundraising knowledge in order to discuss gift vehicles including cash planned gifts securities real property and other gifts to maximize discussions with donors and tailor proposals to their situation and wishes.
- Meet with development colleagues and university partners including alumni and athletics as appropriate to discuss major donor prospects strategy and solicitation.
- Utilize advancement resources provide regular individual and team progress reports performance. Complete and file reports of all contacts/proposals in a timely manner. Present regular updates to the AIVP and other executive and senior leadership as requested.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan coordinate and implement fundraising Major Gift portfolio and Planned Giving programs and campaigns conducted by the IRSC Foundation.
- Manage and implement the design development and production of publications displays presentations and other materials to support said initiatives and activities.
- Plan coordinate and present special events and appeals to benefit the IRSC Foundation and the College.
- Represent and promote the Foundation through presentations to civic and community organizations and involvement in designated committees.
- Coordinate and facilitate scheduled meetings with potential donors including President VP of AI and Executive Director as needed.
- Manage a portfolio of 150 major gift donors and high wealth prospects who have the capacity to make multiyear commitments of $25000 $100000 and above.
- Conduct personal visits with major donors and prospects scheduling a minimum of 8 significant inperson visits for the purpose of field research cultivation solicitation and stewardship each month.
- Create and implement moves management plans and meet specific KPIs for fund raising donor cultivation solicitation and stewardship.
- Develop and maintain an annual pool of prospective major gift donors who will be solicited in the next 1218month period.
- Identify major gift prospects and develop compelling engagement strategies to solicit and close gifts. In collaboration with members of the Philanthropic Engagement team identify develop and cultivate a significant prospects pipeline as part of the organizations evolving fundraising strategy.
- Participate in planning organizing and supporting events to cultivate and steward major donors.
- Prepare written proposals gift agreements funder pitches and other materials needed to define secure and document major gifts.
- Effectively utilize Salesforce to maintain records of contacts with donors and prospects; analyze potential donor research materials to target appropriate givers; and track evaluate and present relevant giving information.
- Track and report progress using specific metrics.
- Maintain donor confidentially and ensure compliance with related policies.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to sit stand walk bend lift reach up stoop use ladders and other equipment and carry items occasionally in excess of fifty 50 pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines such as copier fax calculator telephone and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
