Who are we looking for
We are seeking a Principal Aerospace Engineer to own the design and analysis of innovative engineering solutions and guide small teams of engineers on customer projects. This role spans the entire product lifecycle from concept development and prototyping to detailed analysis manufacturing testing and flight.
What you get to do!
- Lead and manage projects guiding a small team of engineers through .
- Collaborate with customers to define project scope develop schedules and allocate resources to ensure successful delivery.
- Create and enhance design and analysis tools to improve efficiency across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical expertise mentorship and strategic guidance to engineering team members.
- Facilitate crossdisciplinary communication to drive critical program decisions.
- Identify key challenges develop innovative solutions and effectively convey their impact to both internal and external stakeholders.
What you will bring to the Team
Must have:
- 10 years of demonstrated engineering experience
- Bachelors degreein Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent education/work experience)
- 5 years of experience in aerospace and defense including work on aerospace development projects such as new aircraft aircraft modifications aircraft systems and spacecraft
- 4 years of experiencein the design and analysis of composite and metallic structures
- 4 years of handson experiencewith CAD and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as CATIA SolidWorks Creo FEMAP etc.
- 3 years of expertisein aircraft external loads performance stability and control
Other Qualifications:
- Moderate travel
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident with the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Significant experience drafting parts assemblies and installation drawings using GD&T (ASME Y14.5 best practice
- Hands on experience with machining and composite part fabrication
Salary Range
- $147000 $220000 depending on experience
