Job Description
The Opportunity:
This position is in Counseling and Psychologist Services and supports UCF students mental health by providing primarily clinical services which includes initial assessments individual and group counseling crisis management consultation to parents faculty staff and students.
This position/classification may be moved at the managements discretion within the SSWB division to a commensurate level as determined by the Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Services or his/her designee.
Responsibilities:
Provide (inperson or telemental health) initial assessments triage individual (shortterm/brief therapy) and group therapy and consultation and referral services to currently enrolled UCF students and in extenuating circumstances nonenrolled and/or nonstudents along with other University community members. Provide crisis intervention management and follow up services and may initiate and authorize involuntary examination (Baker Act) procedures in accordance with statute 394.463 Florida Mental Health Act. If unlicensed clinician will receive supervision by licensed therapist.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling Psychology Marriage and Family or Social Work from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.2196.
- Licensed or licenseeligible as a mental health counselor social worker marriage and family therapist or psychologist in the State of Florida and must maintain license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Student facing experience in higher education.
- Strong clinical generalist.
- Masters degree by the time of hire.
