Job Description
Falk College seeks a parttime instructor to teach SWK 671 M702 Field Instruction I with Virtual Field Experience VFX 3 credits) in the Spring 2025 01/06/202505/06/2025 semester. Course Description: Supervised (simulated) practice experience to apply knowledge social work principles values and methods and obtain increasing competence and skill for processional practice. Course corequisite: SWK 601Course Overview: The virtual field experience is designed to build social work competencies through participation in purposeful simulation events that mirror reallife situations and which are nested within a simulated agency environment. Simulations tackle broad complex competencies by partializing them into component skills and developing those skills in a graduated/scaffolded manner. Students develop significant applied skills prior to actually beginning a live agency field placement. Students will participate in asynchronous and synchronous activities throughout the semester. Course Requirements: The virtual field experience is meant to complement the inagency internship that students complete during SWK 672. This is a foundational experience intended to prepare practicing social workers to engage in social work practice. Class meets Mondays & Wednesdays 6:00 PM8:00 PM EST async content management (async opens 01/06/2025 1 week before live class session).
Responsibilities
Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Preparation of lectures projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meeting all designated class periods. Submitting completed midsemester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations. Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner. Completion and submission of CSWE competencybased student outcomes for department assessment/accreditation. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
Qualifications
MSW with previous online graduatelevel social work teaching experience preferred. Candidate must have 2 years postmasters experience. Must be able to teach online.
