The Finance Analyst is the Business Partner to the Finance community to assist in the development and implementation of market area objectives and strategies and to ensure there is effective control in the financial management reporting systems. The Finance Analyst is responsible for coordinating and preparing accurate monthly reports forecasts budgets capital and other financial information. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results within the product line. Identification and implementation of best practices comprise a key component of this role
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments
- Manage accounting and reporting functions of the Seattle plant including preparation of management reports
- Support local management and provide assistance in P2P processes AR AP inquiries project tracking and noncore revenue analysis
- Provide support to Plant Controller and assist with WCAN Finance activities
- Interpret events and activities from a financial perspective through collaboration with plant management
- Work closely with the business for weekly forecasting and annual budgeting activities
- Effective linkage of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with financial reporting and flagging of business issues based on financial analyses
- Maintain proper financial and accounting controls and ensure teams and activities are compliant with all internal control standards
- Liaise with Service Centers to ensure collaborative achievement of Finance objectives
- Reconciliation of asset and liability accounts for the plant
- Manage the inventory through monthly balance review and reconciliation of survey results to physical
- Change agent for process and system improvements
- Ad hoc requests as needed
Dimensions:
- Reports directly to the Controller (Richmond BC & Seattle Plant).
- Indirect reporting relationship to Plant Manager Director of Finance & Divisional Finance.
- Frequent interface with Operations Procurement and Third Party customers and vendors.
- Provides administrative support to plant team
Qualifications:
Education & Work Experience:
- Enrollment in a Professional accounting designation (CPA) and / or applicable degree required
- 3 years of financial management experience with increasing responsibility and complex roles
- SAP experience an asset
- IFRS knowledge an asset
Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated financial/business analysis/cost control skills
- Heavy industry experience an asset
- Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills

Salary Range: $75000 $85000 per year
