CITY OF STAUNTON
Sanitation Worker
The City of Staunton Public Works Department keeps our city shining. The Recycling and Refuse Division is now recruiting for a Sanitation Worker to join its team. Successful candidate has responsibility for collecting recycling and refuse materials from residential homes and business locations. Works four tenhour days per week (Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday) with an occasional Saturday shift. Serves as backup driver for trash and snow removal. Must demonstrate strong character and work ethic and be physically capable of the following: ride on the back of a refuse truck for extended periods of time lift 40 pounds on a regular basis up to 70 pounds occasionally stand and walk for extended periods of time and work in all weather conditions. Similar previous experience and Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) highly desired.Successful candidate also has the opportunity to advance to Sanitation Equipment Operator with attainment of Class B CDL resulting in an hourly rate increase.Hourly rate: $17.11 excellent benefits.
