Job Description

Description of Work

This position with NCDOT offers full State Benefits competitive salaries and many career development opportunities.

The primary purpose of the Traffic Systems Operations section is to develop and implement regional and statewide Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) strategies to improve mobility and reliability on arterials and freeways.

The TSO Section is looking for an Engineer to support advancing the TSMO culture and philosophy in all stages of planning project implementation. This position is in TSMO Planning Group and is responsible for supporting team members and supervisors with project development contract management and delivery of projects containing TSMO strategies.

Management Preference
Preference will be given to an individual licensed as a Professional Engineer in NC.

Additional Expectation
Must be able to legally operate a state vehicle.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary Special Qualification May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
