IMC is currently hiring a Full Time Charting Coordinator for our Health Information Management (HIM)department. Underthe direction of the Health Information Services Manager the ChartingCoordinator assures the completion of incompletemedical records within the time frame as specified by medical staff rules andregulations. Is able to workcooperatively with medical staff and other healthcare professionals in obtainingdocumentation to complete medical records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and Experience:
- 3 5 years Medical Records and/or Medical Office experience
Job Knowledge:
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Advance computer skills
Education:
- High School Diploma
WORK HOURS: 40hours/week; Mondays Fridays 8:00 am 4:30 pm.
PRINCIPLE TASKS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Retrievescharts for physician completion
- Performs2nd (retrospective analysis) of charts and removes deficiencies fromthe computer system
- Maintainscontrols to ensure location of incomplete / delinquent medical records
- Generatesand distributes weekly incomplete/delinquent and suspension notices
- Coordinatesthe auditing of incomplete charts on a monthly basis.
