Job Description

The Department of Psychology Counseling and Criminology at Carlow University invites applications for a tenuretrackAssistant Professor position Clinical Mental Health Counselingwithin its our CACREPAccredited Professional Counseling Program.

Areas of Specialization
  • Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program (Tenure Track position)
The Professional Counseling Program offers a Masters of Science in Professional Counseling Degree 60 credit Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Addictions Counseling Program Tracks PostMasters Certification in Addictions Counseling PostMasters Certification in SchoolBased Mental Health Counseling and the Accelerated Masters Professional Counseling Program. The Professional Counseling Program is located within the Department of Psychology Counseling and Criminology which is situated in the College of Arts & Sciences. In addition to the Professional Counseling programs the Department of Psychology Counseling and Criminology also offered graduate programs in Doctor of Psychology in Counseling (PsyD) Masters of Arts in Psychology and certificate programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Teaching masters level counseling courses 3:3 teaching load with summer teaching opportunities)
  • Advising and mentoring students
  • Designing program curriculum
  • Recruiting prospective students
  • Conducting publishing and presenting research
  • Service on program department and university committees
  • Implementing and evaluating program initiatives and operations
  • Willingness to take leadership roles within the program department college and university

MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED
  • Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP Accredited Program (or degree conferral by time of appointment)

MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Commitment to the Counselor Education profession
  • Evidence of excellence in graduate teaching scholarship supervision leadership and experience in delivering individual and/or group counseling
  • Evidence of onground hybrid and online teaching
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Experience or potential for collaborating with community partners
  • Demonstrates experience engaging in professional development (presenting at conferences; local regional national and international platforms)
  • Clinical credentials and research interests pertaining to grief addictions youth and veterans counseling (preferred)

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Licensed or licenseeligible in PA as a professional counselor
  • Certification(s) in a clinical mental healthrelated specialty area
