Job Description

Lead Ophthalmic Technician Eugene Oregon

Were seeking a highly organized experienced and driven professional to join our team as a Lead Ophthalmic Technician. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional patient care and seamlessly supporting our doctors during eye examinations. Bring your expertise and leadership skills to our dynamic and supportive clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a Lead Certified Ophthalmic Assistant handling advancedlevel clinical technical and administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Oversee and streamline clinic flow including documentation of exam findings during patient visits patient education and assistance with medical examinations treatments and procedures.
    • Conduct diagnostic tests such as OCT Fundus photography and FA exams with precision and accuracy.
    • Manage and mentor a team of 10 Ophthalmic Assistants by overseeing scheduling onboarding new hires and guiding them through Skill SignOffs to ensure consistent and efficient team performance.
    • Update and maintain the Clinical Skills Achievement Board to align with team growth goals and ensure compliance with evolving protocols and standards.
    • Act as a mentor and role model for Ophthalmic Assistants while serving as a primary resource for support staff within the practice.

Qualifications

    • Previous experience as a technician in an Ophthalmology office.
    • Handson expertise with diagnostic testing including OCT Fundus photography and FA exams.
    • COA or COT certification is highly preferred.
    • A dedicated and teamoriented leader with a passion for excellence in patient care and clinical practice.
