Job Description
Job Summary:
The Line Cook at Beach Combers Tiki Hut is responsible for preparing highquality and delicious island themed meals in a timely manner for hotel guests and patrons of our onsite restaurant. This is a parttime and hourly position within the hospitality/restaurant industry located in Devil Hills North Carolina. As an individual contributor the Line Cook will work alongside a team of culinary professionals to provide exceptional service and uphold the high standards of Ramada Plaza. Dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday evenings.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16 to $20 per hour paid biweekly. In addition all employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package paid time off and 401(k) retirement savings options.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of food items in accordance with recipes quality and portion control standards set by the hotel and restaurant
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations including proper temperature control and cleanliness of work area
Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate production of meals
Maintain knowledge of current menu items and be able to make suggestions and upsell to guests
Follow instructions and complete tasks given by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
Communicate any supply or equipment shortages to management and assist in ordering as needed
Assist with the setup breakdown and cleaning of workstations as well as overall kitchen cleanliness
Handle and store food items properly including rotation and labeling
Assist with inventory management and control of food costs
Adhere to all safety and company policies and procedures
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience as a Line Cook in a highvolume restaurant or hotel setting
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and knife skills
Ability to work well in a fastpaced teamoriented environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to obtain and maintain any required food handling and/or alcohol service certifications
