Join a worldclass academic healthcare system UChicago Medicine as a Principal Trainer (Cadence Ambulatory and Professional Billing)in the Information Technology department. This position will be primarily a work from home opportunity with the requirement to come onsite as needed. You will need tobe based in the greater Chicagoland area. This role will be assigned to work on UCMs Community Connect Program.

UCM Community Connect provides independent providers and healthcare organizations with a unified and integrated patient record to support patient care while leveraging the shared resources and expertise of an experienced Epic organization such as UCM.

The Principal Trainer (Cadence Ambulatory and Professional Billing) partners with other trainers and team leads to provide training programs for the hospital entities and users of the electronic health record (EHR) system and other thirdparty systems. Participates in workflow design and system build in order to gain indepth knowledge of operational needs and ensure the system design supports those workflows. Identifies changes in workflow and develops curriculum and training plans to support the changes. Plans and develops curriculum in accordance with needs assessments. Pursues new developments in education and training methodologies and implements as deemed appropriate. Promotes a climate for the participant that encourages learning and selfmotivation through the application of principles of adult learning. Under the direction of a team lead or application analyst functions as an ongoing liaison between operational leadership and ITS teams in providing in person consultation and support for end users. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation between a culturally diverse workforce and patient population.

Essential Job Functions

  • Create update and enhance EHR and business system training documentation including manuals outlines curricula training scripts objectives handouts quick reference guides tests proficiency assessments lab scenarios and posttraining support materials and evaluations.
  • Deliver system training across the organization. Demonstrate flexibility with schedules training approaches and travel across the organization.
  • Collaborate with analysts trainers operational leaders and frontline staff in job analysis and the development of training content job aids and competency assessments.
  • Present information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy to understand manner
  • Administers proficiency assessments and class evaluations responsible for updating curriculum and continuous improvement
  • Accurately track end user attendance course completion and testing in the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Develop and Support Super User and EndUser training
  • Ensure accurate documentation of schedules registrations and transcripts in Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Builds and maintains training environments for the EHR and other thirdparty systems.
  • Manage training work queue for training issues to ensure prompt resolution of reported issues and service requests.
  • Participates in projects and end user walkabout support for EHR users and other systems.
  • Plan and develop visionary curricula for their end users; be forward thinking for approaches to adult education.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge and previous application of adult learning principles
  • Ability to train healthcare system to staff on Epic Applications in a virtual or onsite environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing curriculum as needed
  • Experience in training in an Epic Ambulatory or Enterprise implementation and able to provide post golive support
  • Familiar with healthcare operations medical information and information technology
  • Demonstrated leadership skills evidenced
  • Demonstrates complex decisionmaking skills and problemsolving abilities
  • Epic credentialing in an Epic application or able to successfully complete an Epic certification within three months of hire
  • Ability to deliver technology training using multiple resources simultaneously (Microsoft Word PPT Team Zoom and other supplemental training applications).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Previous experience as an educator
  • Previous experience using an electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Knowledge and previous use of computerbased training (CBT) modules
  • Knowledge in specialty area
  • Epic certifications
  • Training Calculator experience

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a fulltime equivalent 1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
