JOB POSTINGPOSITION/TITLE:Board Certified Behavior AnalystPROGRAM/LOCATION:All North River Collaborative Programs and School District Locations as Determined by NeedSTART DATE:AugustSummer Hours TBD)LENGTH OF POSITION:Eleven month schedule full schoolyear 183 days) and summer hours (six weeks) as assigned.SALARY SCHEDULE:Certified Teacher/Licensed TherapistQUALIFICATIONS:Masters Degree required. Certification by Behavior Analyst Certification BoardLicense from the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health and Human Services ProfessionsEvidence of current and ongoing professional developmentSchoolbased or pediatric experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis preferredExperience with both therapeutic and behavioral methodologies preferredExcellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skillsREPORTS TO:Coordinator of District ServicesEVALUATION:Staff evaluation will be implemented as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:This BCBA position is a fulltime position following a school year calendar with summer hours also as assigned. The BCBA is responsible for the effective treatment of all students on the caseload and for evaluation and consultation with school districts. Responsibilities include:INSTRUCTIONAL/DIRECT SERVICEDesigns appropriate behavioral intervention plans for students and provides consultation to staff regarding consistent implementation of the program at school. Assists in development of appropriate goals and objectives for the IEP.Creates visual supports and other materials as needed for skill acquisition and behavior plans; teaches others to create visual supports.Performs home visits home assessments home/school functional behavior assessments as requested.Assists in the implementation or coordination of home services for selected cases.Provides student support in crisis situations consistently implementing predetermined behavioral strategies and safety procedures.SUPERVISION AND TRAININGProvides training for staff in the use of specific strategies including functional behavior assessment task analysis individual reinforcement systems repeated practice through discrete trials prompting and prompt fading modeling shaping and chaining incidental teaching systematic generalization and databased decision making.Functions as a Team member; collaborating with other members of the school team in gathering and giving information on a case and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of the students behavior.Acts as a member of the crisis management team and provides training as directed.Acts as a leader and shows poise in processing difficult situations with team members.DOCUMENTATION EVALUATION AND COMMUNICATIONProvides thorough assessment of behavioral difficulties of referred students through appropriate observation and other diagnostic practices.Provides consultation and training to parents regarding implementation of behavioral intervention plans if needed.Evaluates the effectiveness of the treatment plans using reliable observation data collection and analysis of each students behavior on a regular basis.Collects records and graphs data as needed; teaches others appropriate methods of collecting recording and graphing data.With classroom teams compiles quarterly progress reports and assessment data.Attends IEP meetings and other school/family meetings as requested.Acts as a resource person to school staff and families as indicated.HEALTH AND SAFETYRespond to the needs of individual students so as to enhance their social/emotional health and personal development.Respond to situations in a culturally proficient manner taking into account a whole student perspective.With training is able to apply deescalation strategies if necessary to prevent a student from harming themselves or others.Able to safely lift students up to 50 lbs independently and assist in lifting students up to 100 lbs.Able to physically assist students during activities such as: toileting personal hygiene in/out of adaptive equipment and mechanical lifts and other selfcare tasks as needed.Able to move with reasonable speed and physically assist students during any emergency drills or actual emergencies.Able to safely and effectively participate in restraint training and to safely perform physical escort and restraints as needed once trained.Able to safely and effectively participate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training if requested and to safely perform CPR as needed once trained.ETHICALMaintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.Maintain professional attitudes and productive relationships with other staff and administration.Treat parents and other professionals with respect.Respond constructively to feedback and goal oriented coaching.OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
