Position Overview
MMT Recruitment is partnering with a leading aged care provider to find an entrylevel Physiotherapist for their Canberra facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly registered physiotherapist with General or Limited Registration looking to gain handson experience in the aged care sector. Complete training and ongoing support will be provided by the team with potential to expand your hours to include communitybased care in both aged care and disability settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for residents evaluating mobility posture balance and musculoskeletal health
- Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy treatment plans in collaboration with the broader healthcare team
- Provide handson physiotherapy interventions to enhance functional independence and reduce pain
- Educate residents caregivers and staff on injury prevention mobility aids and exercises
- Monitor and track resident progress adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Participate in case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Assist with rehabilitation programs particularly postsurgery or injury
- Provide support for communitybased physiotherapy care
- Maintain accurate uptodate records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Adhere to infection control protocols
- Engage in ongoing professional development
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
- General or Limited Physiotherapy Registration with AHPRA
- Full working rights (Sponsorship is not provided)
- Class C drivers license and access to a reliable car
- Strong communication skills
- Compassionate patientfocused approach
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Reliable adaptable with excellent time management skills
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance (or willingness to obtain)
