Job Summary
The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Fairleigh Dickinson University is seeking to fill an opening for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Counselor Education. This individual will serve as a member of the core faculty in the CACREP accredited Counselor Education terminal masters program.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program and be licensed or licensedeligible in the state of New Jersey. We seek candidates with a strong track record of teaching and scholarship in counseling. The area of program emphasis is open but training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is highly desired with comparable counseling teaching and clinical experience. The candidate must be able to teach core courses at the Masters level in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well as developing their own systematic research program as publishing in top peerreviewed journals is a requirement for tenure and promotion. The individual must be committed to highquality instruction and be able to mentor students. She/he will teach masterslevel courses supervise practicum and internship and be involved in practicum and internship placement. This faculty member will also be actively involved in CACREP related and other departmental and universitywide administrative duties and committees. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card. The anticipated starting date is August 2019; however the search will remain open until the position is filled. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
