*** Cardiovascular Invasive Tech/Cath Lab Tech***

This is a Parttime position with day shift hours located in Norfolk VA.

This position requires oncall with a 30minute response time

Job Requirements

• Education: A graduate of a diploma associates or bachelors health sciences program (includes but is not limited to cardiovascular technology ultrasound radiologic technology respiratory therapy or nursing) or a licensed/certified EMT or paramedic.
• Required: BLS
• Required: ACLS required within 90 days of hire
• 1 year cardiac clinical or equivalent experience required. On the job training required. Certified Cardiographic Technician certification required within 2 years of date of hire.

Position Overview

The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist is a health care professional that through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician assists in the performance of cardiac and vascular procedures. Resulting in an accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort. The Cardiovascular Invasive Tech performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures. Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Tech acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.
