Join a worldclass academic healthcare systemUChicago Medicine as an Adult Inpatient Occupational Therapist II.
The Occupational Therapist performs Occupational Therapy services and assessments to UCM patients upon referral from a licensed practitioner. The OTR/L practices in an assigned clinical division of the Therapy Services department. The Occupational therapist will be responsible for clinical care and program development within OT services and the supervision of patient care rendered by technicians and OT students as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
Evaluates patients utilizing advanced tests and measures; to determine the occupational therapy problem/level of function and the expected discharge environment establishes a treatment plan including home program based upon the evaluation findings the patient/family the referring practitioner and therapists goals.
Within patient/client management utilizes appropriate advanced techniques and interventions.
Documents findings: progress procedures performed and time required according to all department policies and external regulation requirements.
Demonstrates effective time management and achieves designated productivity expectation.
Complies with PI initiatives including assisting with service projects to enhance patient experience and patient outcomes within the department and organization. May assist with the development of new programs supports research projects.
Attends rounds conferences and clinics assigned; reports on patient status and may recommend appropriate patient discharge disposition.
Performs other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Requires graduation from an approved occupational therapy school.
Current or eligible for Registration and Licensure in Occupational Therapy in the State of Illinois.
Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care which is age specific /appropriate for the types of patients served. Basic computer skills to allow access to operations and patient data
Appropriate interpersonal skills necessary to enable positive interactions with patients families team members referral sources and outside contacts.
