Job Description
The speech language pathologist will conduct evaluations and provide direct services to students with mild/moderate/severe disabilities in a prekindergarten setting.Conducts thorough assessments of speech and language skills utilizing standardized evaluations and informal assessments to establish eligibility for services and inform goals and service delivery Utilizes data to develop attainable strengthsbased SMART goals for improving functional communication skills Provides direct services utilizing researchbased treatment methods to improve students functional communication skills as outlined in the students Individualized Education Program (IEP) Records data and reports progress at least as often as report cards are provided Attends and participates in IEP meetings Collaborates with other related service providers to conduct cotreatment sessions when deemed appropriate Consults with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to implement communication strategies throughout the school day Participates in professional development that is specific to the field and meets requirements to maintain licensure Masters Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program Valid Speech Language Pathology License through the Board of SpeechLanguage Pathology and Audiology Division of Professional Licensure Commonwealth of Massachusetts Valid Speech and Hearing Disabilities (All Levels) License through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Certification by the American SpeechLanguageHearing Association (ASHA) preferred Strong Clinical Fellow (CF) candidates considered Experience with low mid and hightech augmentative/alternative communication strategies Experience with behavior management/deescalation strategies Building principal and Special Education team administration Director of Special Education & Special Education Coordinator
