The speech language pathologist will conduct evaluations and provide direct services to students with mild/moderate/severe disabilities in a prekindergarten setting.
Responsibilities Include:
Conducts thorough assessments of speech and language skills utilizing standardized evaluations and informal assessments to establish eligibility for services and inform goals and service deliveryUtilizes data to develop attainable strengthsbased SMART goals for improving functional communication skillsProvides direct services utilizing researchbased treatment methods to improve students functional communication skills as outlined in the students Individualized Education Program (IEP)Records data and reports progress at least as often as report cards are providedAttends and participates in IEP meetingsCollaborates with other related service providers to conduct cotreatment sessions when deemed appropriateConsults with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to implement communication strategies throughout the school dayParticipates in professional development that is specific to the field and meets requirements to maintain licensureQualifications:
Masters Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate programValid Speech Language Pathology License through the Board of SpeechLanguage Pathology and Audiology Division of Professional Licensure Commonwealth of Massachusetts Valid Speech and Hearing Disabilities (All Levels) License through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary EducationCertification by the American SpeechLanguageHearing Association (ASHA) preferred Strong Clinical Fellow (CF) candidates consideredPreferred Skills
