Summary
The AVALA Physician Network is actively searching for a dedicatedcompassionate and driven Neurologist to join its awardwinning roster ofphysicians. The right candidate will work with a growing community of providersand physicians to offer the highest standards of medical care to the GreaterNew Orleans area and surrounding communities. AVALA is a premier 21bed surgical hospital operating inCovington Louisiana which is located on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrainin the suburbs of New Orleans. In addition to the hospital AVALA provides diagnosticimaging services physical and hand therapy physician clinics and urgentorthopedic care. Neurologist Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing complex medical problems by referring to a patients history performing patient examinations and conducting neurological tests.
- Perform Visual and Brainstem Evoked Responses EEG EMG Nerve Conduction Studies etc.
- Counseling patients on neurological disorders and their background.
- Ordering neurological tests and interpreting the results of neuroimaging studies.
- Prescribing and/or administering treatment and medication.
- Monitoring the behavioral and cognitive side effects of treatment and medication.
- Ordering supportive care services for patients.
- Participating in neuroscience research activities.
- Liaising with medical professionals in the community and hospitals.
- Keeping uptodate with neurological developments treatments and medication.
