Job Summary

Nutrition Services Assistantsprepare and serve food toour studentsin a high school or middle school. Nutrition Services Assistants provide our studentswith nutritious meals which directly supports student learning.

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid food handler card for San Diego County.

You can take on online class to obtain the card.

La Costa Canyon High School Monday Friday 10:45 am 1:15 pm

Pacific Trail Middle School Monday Friday 9:45 am 1:00 pm

Pacific Trail Middle School Monday Friday 9:00 am 12:45 pm

Canyon Crest Academy Monday Friday 9:45 1:00 pm

Oak Crest Middle School Monday Friday 11:00 am to 1 pm

The competitive basis for this recruitment is established as Open/PromotionalDual Certification. Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and submit a valid food handler card are placed on an eligibility list.

The eligibility list is used to fill vacancies within the sixmonth eligibility period

Veterans may be eligible for preference points. Please attach a copy of your DD214 to your application.

Employment with SDUHSD is contingent upon successful completion of postoffer background check fingerprinting physical exam including tuberculosis drug and alcohol screening and an Oath of Allegiance. Please note that our agency receives federal funding and must adhere to federal regulations; results which indicate use will be considered nonpassing.

Probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service whichever is longer. Management employees serve a probationary period of one year.
