Description of Work
This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Note: Permanent and timelimited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or timelimited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
Individuals hired in a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located in Wilmington New Hanover County.Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $19.75 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 3240 Burnt Mill Dr Suite 7 Wilmington NC 28403.
The duties of this role include the employee working with DSBVR staff in the implementation and service delivery of preemployment transition services to qualifying students with visual impairments blindness or deafblindness.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

- Experience working with youth ages 1421 years of age school staff and providers.
- Experience in conducting outreach activities networking building relationships with organizations.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to use MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) efficiently in composing letters presentations and reports.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with eligible individuals employers vendors agency staff and others as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in a discipline relative to the program served from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in an area related to program that provides experience in techniques of casework or counseling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Supplemental and Contact Information
