Were looking for a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant to join our Medical Center/MARC in Pueblo and MARC in Trinidad CO.

What Youll Be Doing

As a CMA/RMA you would be preparing patients for examinations providing assistance to providers with patient examinations and procedures and other medical duties as directed by the provider. Youd also have the distinct opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Health Solutions professionals to serve individuals in Pueblo and rural areas as needed.

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Healthcare Services and Supervisor of Healthcare Services and MARC. This position would provide support to the provider teams by assisting in all officebased functions within scope. This position would be based in Pueblo with the possibility of coverage to our other Pueblo locations.

Administrative Duties:

  • Patient check in and check out.
  • Keeps accurate complete and uptodate records with 100 compliance with set standards.
  • Maintains respect for privacy by adhering to confidentiality in all phases of work.
  • Adheres to the spirit of the mission statement while performing assigned duties.
  • Maintains competency and proficiency with the electronic health record.
  • Clinical duties:
  • Perform CLIA Waved testing
  • Assists with medical and surgical procedures
  • Assist the medical staff in patient education
  • Administers vaccine and medication injections (IM Oral and SC)
  • Stocks supplies
  • Venipuncture and takes vital signs
  • Takes health history and obtain laboratory samples
  • Performs EKG Spirometry inhalation therapy and other in house laboratory and physical tests as directed by medical staff
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for patients and maintains exam rooms
  • Assist in maintenance of instruments equipment and cleans and autoclaves instruments as needed
  • Provides medical services as ordered by the treating team that is appropriate to the agespecific needs of all patients in accordance with the principles of growth and development for infant child adolescent ault and geriatric life cycles
  • Triage patients immediate needs
  • Witness and collect urine samples
  • Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned by a supervisor/director
  • Integration and Team Participation:
  • Schedules xrays and other medical testing working with insurance companies as required for any preauthorization needs
  • Works with other team members in the integration setting and follows universal precautions to protect self and patients
  • Be sensitive to cultural differences and able to work with patient from diverse racial ethnic educations and socioeconomic backgrounds sexual orientation and gender identities
  • Have an understanding of substance use disorders and support the medical team to ensure the highest quality care to patients with substance use disorders.
  • Create a positive and compassionate interaction with patients.
  • Support the successful recovery of patients and improve the quality of their lives.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionallymovesequipment and supplies as well as patients with mobility limitations.
  • Frequently uses medicalequipment such as venipuncture needles and blood pressure devices
  • Frequently stays stationary for prolonged periods.
  • Frequently walks for prolonged periods.
  • Frequently exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Frequently exposed tostressful oremergentsituations.
  • Frequently operatesa computer and other office equipment to record health data.
  • Consistently communicate with patients.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and associate degree or certificate from a medical assisting program is required.
  • Certified medical assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced primary integrated healthcare practice
  • Computer proficiency
  • Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Pass background check
  • Successful track record in a fastpaced work environment
  • Colorado drivers license and good driving record

What wed Like to See in youthe NicetoHaves

  • Two years of medical office/healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of billing and medical electronic health records is preferred
  • Spanish language skills
