Job Description
The State College Area School District is currently seeking energetic collaborative childcentered individuals for Elementary Interventionist Paraprofessional positions in the Special Education Department. These are districtwide positions with an initial assignment at one of our elementary schools that will be discussed during the interview.
All applicants must meet Highly Qualified (HQ) status or be willing to gain HQ status within the first two months of hire. To be considered HQ you meet one of the following criteria: A) Have obtained at least 2 years postsecondary education requires at least 48 semester credit hours documented by official college/university transcripts; B) Possess an associate degree or higher documented by official college/university transcripts; C) Meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a State or local assessment. SCASD will accept rigorous standards of quality as provided through programs offered by PDE/PaTTAN Central Intermediate Unit10 PA State Education Association or other professional agencies who have developed paraprofessional programs that are deemed by SCASD as acceptable and then documented with an official HQ certificate. All applicants including internal applicants are to upload verification of their HQ status.
