Role Overview

Within this role you will manage support and coach direct reports including Production Supervisors and other operations support members in delivering on their areas of responsibility keeping them engaged in the business objectives and appropriately mentoring and developing them in their careers. Direct reports vary between 47 and indirectly the team size is roughly 200. You will coordinate production activities with Supply Chain Planning Engineering Finance and Quality groups to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources machines and equipment.

What You Will Do

  • Leads plant personnel by being a role model for factbased problemsolving support and facility upkeep. Is a respected presence on the floor and has a pulse on the daytoday issues.
  • Develops novel processes and fosters a culture of teamwork safety quality and productivity.
  • Meets plant daily/weekly/monthly output and work order delivery targets as set by the Planning and Sales process.
  • Monitors production performance over all shifts using visual daily management techniques and daily production status meetings. Work with other departments to implement changes and correct deficiencies.
  • As a member of the leadership team fosters a management style that supports excellence personal growth and mutual respect through communications and practices that promote employee involvement and commitment at all levels.
  • Manages and controls Production labour materials and consumables spending by gauging production needs overtime hours bookings s/waste material.
  • Participates in product costing activities to maximize the probability of obtaining new business
  • Ensures standard unit hours for budgeted Direct Labour and Overhead $s per standard hour rates are met by Production team.

What We Need

  • Minimum 10 years working experience as a manufacturing operations leader preferably (but not necessarily) in a medical device manufacturing environment or similar. (clean room is an asset)
  • PostSecondary Degree or Diploma in a management or technical field.
  • Management/Supervisory exposure to Maintenance best practices with working knowledge of trades such as mechanical electrical injection molding tooling etc.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to keep all lines of communication open within intercompany departments.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced team environment and while juggling multiple priorities.
