Job Description
Calpine Corporation is Americas largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources with operations in competitive power markets. Its fleet of 77 power plants in operation represents over 27000 megawatts of generation capacity. Job Summary:(includes but is not limited to the following other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the business unit as well as assisting commercial manager in preparing cost estimates of new or special products for establishing selling prices and production forecasts. Will conduct business analysis of products customer activities and be involved in the development of initiatives to increase sales. May analyze and put systems in place to maintain or enhance current margin levels. Will design and document workflow and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness and will track and analyze business unit trends to in turn make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact the unit.
Job Responsibilities
- Solid working knowledge.
- Experienced professional with full understanding of job company and industry practices.
- Performs in fullyfunctioning capacity equivalent to a journey level contributor.
- Makes decisions regarding own work often in ambiguous situations; makes recommendations regarding own function/discipline.
- Solves operational problems and associated technical issues; modifiesexistingtools techniques or processes.
- Limited instruction on daytoday work general instructions on new assignments.
- May be designated project or technical lead for an ongoing process or shortterm project within own department.
- Information sharing gives and receives information such as options technical direction instruction and reporting results.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
- Journey level; Requires 3 years experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
