What does a Respiratory Therapist do
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy management
rehabilitation diagnostic evaluation and direct care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities which
effect on the pulmonary system
Essential Duties:
- Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor as outlined in our established
- policies and procedures.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures of the facility to which the respiratory care practitioner is assigned.
- Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients needs.
- Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patients condition.
- Collects analyzes and interprets data and information from healthcare members and documents actual and/or potential diagnoses. patient care outcome standard. A care practitioner is assigned.
- In services the nurse is primarily responsible for the patient and the physician as needed and before leaving the facility departments within the facility.
- Violations of such disclosure to the Administrator of this position. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
Requirements:
- Plans for outcomes of care for those patients assigned.
- Performs interventions according to identified priorities plan of care and the hospital policies and
- Adheres to emergency safety and infection control procedures of the facility to which the respiratory
- Promotes and participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications.
- Reports changes in the patients respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartment personnel as well as other
- Agree not to disclose residents protected health information and promptly report suspected or known
- Assume the administrative authority responsibility and accountability of performing the assigned duties
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.
- Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential.
- Must possess as a minimum an Associate Degree from an
- accredited school.
- Must be a Graduate of a respiratory care program.
- Bachelor of Science degree in the health care field preferred.
- Minimum of one 1 year respiratory experience in a skilled nursing acute and/or subacute unit preferred.
