Job Description

Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) provides broadband services through itshigh speed stateoftheart fiber optic and cable networks tocustomers in the MidAtlantic United States. The Companys services include:broadband internet video and voice; fiber optic Ethernet wavelength andleasing; and tower colocation leasing. The Company owns an extensive regional network with over 8300 route milesof fiber and 220 macro cellular towers. For more information pleasevisitwww.shentel.

About the Role:

Employees in this classification will perform an assortment of tasks required to maintain the warehouse and grounds; receiving all items shipped to the warehouse; maintain plant department inventory; assist in maintaining the fleet and maintain various types of equipment and products. Warehouse Attendants are required to be certified in forklift operation.

All Bargaining Unit classifications require certification and/or qualification on the equipment the employee is assigned to install maintain and/or use. A valid (nonsuspended) Ohio drivers license is a condition of employment for all Bargaining Unit classifications with the exception of Service Operations Attendant. Likewise a valid (nonsuspended) commercial drivers license (CDL) is a condition of employment for those classifications requiring such license.

Essential Job Functions:

When not being handled by Buildings and Grounds maintain the warehouse and grounds including mowing and trimming; cleaning sidewalks and driveways of debris and snow; and keeping aisle ways clear of debris.

Receive all items shipped to the warehouse including stocking storage and record keeping.

Maintain the plant department inventory including ordering or purchasing some articles as assigned by management receiving stocking distributing and record keeping.

Assist in maintaining the fleet including fueling vehicles adding engine fluids washing vehicles stocking equipment in vehicles and record keeping.

Assist in maintaining various types of equipment including customerowned phones company phones and pay phones.

Assist in preprovisioning of various types of subscriber equipment including gateways and DSL modems.

Qualifications:

GED or High School diploma.

Valid nonsuspended Ohio drivers license.

Basic computer skills.

Inventory and barcoding systems training or comparable education.

Certified in forklift operation.

Skilled in basic telephony principals.

Skilled in basic safety principals.

Skilled in problem solving.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy work: Lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. A job is in this category requires a good deal of walking standing and sitting with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. If someone can do heavy work we determine that he or she can also do medium light and sedentary work. This position requires the ability to effectively see and hear the majority of the time.
