Job Description

Extended School Year Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Reports To: ESY Coordinator

Danvers Public Schools is seeking an Extended School Year Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the ESY program. This is a nonbenefited parttime seasonal position for the 2025 summer. This is a MondaythroughThursday program running from July 7 2025 to August 7 2025

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team during the Extended School Year Program (ESY) for students with disabilities.

The COTA will work under the direct supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to provide support to students with a variety of physical developmental and sensory needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the occupational therapist implement individualized therapy interventions to help students develop fine motor skills sensory processing abilities and daily living skills needed for classroom participation.

Support students in developing skills that will help them participate in daily school activities such as writing using classroom tools selfregulation and peer interactions.

Track and document student progress through data collection assessments and progress reports.

Provide direct oneonone and small group therapy sessions to students with physical developmental or sensory challenges.
