The School of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales is seeking a lead preschool teacher to work with three and fouryearolds in a vibrant Catholic educational setting. A lead preschool teacher is responsible for designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children overseeing a team of assistant teachers actively engaging with students in learning activities maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment and communicating regularly with parents regarding their childs progress and development; requiring strong leadership organizational skills and a passion for early childhood education. Key responsibilities may include:Curriculum development:Creating and implementing lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards incorporating diverse learning activities across developmental areas like cognitive social emotional and physical. Classroom management:Maintaining a positive and structured learning environment managing student behavior and ensuring childrens safety. Instructional delivery:Leading small and large group activities providing individualized support to children based on their needs and incorporating developmentally appropriate practices. Staff supervision:Delegating tasks providing guidance and feedback to assistant teachers and aides and ensuring consistent implementation of the curriculum. Parent communication:Regularly communicating with parents through conferences newsletters and daily updates regarding their childs progress development and any concerns. Assessment and observation:Conducting ongoing observations of childrens development documenting progress and using data to inform instruction. Collaboration:Working with other staff members to ensure a cohesive learning environment and share best practices. Required qualifications:Associates or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field Valid teaching license or credential as required by state regulations Proven experience working with young children in a preschool setting Knowledge and understanding of Catholic valuesStrong leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children parents and colleagues Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education
