About the Role
The Leadership Institute is hiring a Senior Editor to lead editorial operations for its flagship campus news website Campus Reform. As Americas leading source for conservative college news Campus Reform plays a critical role in exposing liberal bias and abuses on college campuses. The Senior Editor will be responsible for shaping the publications editorial strategy leading a team of writers and contributors and ensuring highimpact investigative and breaking news coverage that advances the mission.
This is a highvisibility leadership role that requires a deep understanding of conservative media a strong editorial vision and the ability to manage a fastpaced newsroom. The Senior Editor will also serve as an institutional representative appearing on national television radio and podcasts to amplify Campus Reforms reporting and thought leadership.
The Senior Editor reports to the Editor in Chief and works closely with the Managing Editor to set strategic goals expand audience reach and develop innovative content initiatives
This is a fulltime inoffice position based in Arlington VA.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Leadership: Oversee the development and of editorial content ensuring it aligns with Campus Reforms brand mission and style.
Strategic Planning: Partner with the Editor in Chief to set longterm editorial strategy drive content innovation and expand Campus Reforms impact.
Investigative & Breaking News Coverage:Lead efforts to identify and report highprofile stories on leftist bias and abuses in higher education.
Talent Development & Team Management: Train and mentor a nationwide network of freelance correspondents and contributors in both print and broadcast journalism.
Media Representation:Prepare reporters to represent Campus Reform on local media outlets articulating key stories and themes to a broad audience.
Audience Growth & Digital Strategy: Oversee social media content engagement strategies and digital initiatives to maximize reach and influence.
Editorial Standards & Ethics: Ensure all content adheres strictly to journalistic integrity legal standards and ethical reporting principles.
Required Qualifications
5 years of seniorlevel experience in media journalism communications or a related field.
Proven leadership experience managing editorial teams projects or newsrooms.
Strong writing editing and storytelling skills with a track record of producing highimpact journalism.
Deep understanding of conservative politics media landscape and Campus Reforms mission.
Experience appearing on television radio or podcasts as a subject matter expert.
Ability to operate effectively in a fastpaced deadlinedriven newsroom environment.
Strong management mentorship and coaching abilities.
Availability to monitor and respond to breaking news events including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience covering higher education campus issues or investigative journalism.
Background in broadcast media multimedia content production or digital strategy.
