Critical Illness Recovery Hospital

Clinical Liaison (RN / RRT)

Annual Salary Range: $76000$106000 (depending on relevant years of experience)

Uncapped monthly bonus potential

At Select Specialty Hospitals a division of Select Medical we care for chronically and critically ill or postICU patients who require extended hospital care. Select Medical employs over 54000 people across the country and provides quality care to approximately 105000 patients each and every day across our four divisions.

Select Specialty Hospital is located in downtown San Diego on Washington Street. As a 110bed freestanding Critical Illness Recovery Hospital we treat medically complex patients who need more support before starting their road to recovery. Our team is dedicated to creating a safe and collaborative environment. We provide a comprehensive training program preparing clinical team members to treat and care for a wide variety of diagnoses and high acuity patients. Typically patients stay with us for 2530 days allowing our team to build rapport with patients and their families.

Responsibilities

A Clinical Liaison serves as an advocate for patients during the preadmission process. Under the general direction of the Director of Business Development you work with all clinical teams and groups in evaluating both current and potential patients statuses and medical needs. You serve as a resource for the hospital and healthcare professionals and develop resultsproducing relationships throughout the medical facilities.

Our hospitals offer a postICU plan of care that focuses on mobility weightbearing ambulation and nutrition all crucial contributors to getting patients back to their baseline of health. Clinical Liaisons help hospitals in their local communities to identify postICU patients who have entered into a state of chronic critical illness and will benefit from this specialized extension of acute care.

  • Armed with a strong clinical background payer knowledge and problemsolving skills youll work with physicians discharge planners and patients families to plan the best continuum of care.
  • Performs clinical assessments of referred patients then counsels with patients families to assist them in making the best care decisions for their loved one.
  • Partners with hospital case managers to create smooth patient transfer processes and help remove payerrelated and operational barriers to getting appropriate patients into this highly effective level of care.

This is a salaried position that works MondayFriday with periodic oncall responsibility.

Qualifications

We are seeking resultsdriven team players. Qualified candidates must be passionate about providing superior quality in all that they do.

Minimum requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Respiratory Therapist (RT) License.
  • Other Educational and Clinical designation with approval of Vice President Business & Market Development or designee.

Preferred qualificationsthat will make you successful:

  • Be an investigator and problem solver use your critical thinking skills to overcome obstacles that prevent patients from being admitted into the optimal level of care.
  • Be flexible selfdriven accountable for results autonomous and supportive of team efforts.
  • Prior sales or business development experience is preferred.
