Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and/or Abilities Required)
A valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in teacher ofthe hearing impaired is required. A license from CAID (Conference on American Instructors of the Deaf) is also required. Competency in administering and interpreting tests for hearing impaired. A working knowledge of group application systems and skill in manual communication is required. Knowledge of local state and national facilities for serving the hearing impaired. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board of Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity hear and understand speech at normal levels; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds; to bend stoop climb stairs walk and reach overhead.
