Position Summary
The Meal Services Attendant assists in a variety of food service functions relating to patient trayline taking patient orders meal tray delivery and collection; ware washing (dishes pots and pans); cleans and stocks assembly area and nursing nourishment areas with appropriate foods and supplies; records temperatures and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Demonstrates appropriate hand hygiene practices.
Capable of communicating effectively with patients visitors and other hospital personnel.
Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Wears an approved uniform.
Demonstrates knowledge of HACCP Standards.
Demonstrates knowledge of handling soiled and clean dishes.
Demonstrates proper procedures for meal tray assembly and delivery.
Documents refrigerator temperatures daily Stocks pantry kitchen according to par levels.
Rotates stock using FIFO.
Respectful use of all hospital equipment.
Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
One year of food service experience preferred.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to read and write English preferred.
