Job Description

As a Cable Jointer at Evoenergy you will be part of general construction installation connection maintenance and repair of both high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) distribution network assets and equipment.

You will predominantly be working in greenfields subdivision feeder and chamber substation environments with emphasis on those components directly related to the underground network.

Key responsibilities:

  • Performing a wide variety of cable jointing applications including HV and LV XLPE & paper lead cables of our underground electricity network
  • Termination of cables within switchgear and transformers
  • Installation of tjoints within underground pits for residential sites
  • Trouble shooting and fault finding within installed network
  • Supervision development and mentoring of junior staff and apprentices
  • Ordering of materials for use including personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure booking of time and materials to appropriate project/work orders numbers.
  • Report on any worksite variances to immediate Supervisor.
  • Contribute to job closure reports within required time frame.
  • Participate in investigation of incidents if required.
  • Other duties within the employees skill competence and training.

Our ideal candidate:

  • You take active steps to ensure the safety of your colleagues and our community championing a safe inclusive and respectful environment
  • Minimum Certificate III in ESI Distribution Underground
  • OH&S General Induction Card
  • Asbestos Awareness Training
  • Silica Awareness Training
  • Hold a current Medium Rigid drivers licence or be willing and able to obtain.
  • Previous successful work in field on construction and/or maintenance of network infrastructure.
