Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a HS Dance Team Coach.
STIPEND FOR:$3529.00 Will be prorated for the remanider of the 2425 season

DEPARTMENT:Activities
REPORTS TO:Director of Activitiesand School Equity
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:HS Principal
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Dance Team Coach will be responsible for recruiting administering and directing the Dance Team which will perform with the marching band at various events throughout the school year as well as rehearse and perform as a dance team beyond the scope of the marching band performances including competitions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Supervise and prepare Dance Team for performances.
2. Schedule and attend all practices sessions before during or afterschool.
3. Participate in dance competitions outside of drill team and marching band performances.4.Maintain a dance program and performance schedule throughout the school year.
5.Submit to the Activities Office a yearend report including the following:
List of members
Awards or honors received
Summer activities
Recommendations for improvements
Schedule all offseason activities including summer activities.
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
1. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
2. Maintain confidentiality.
3. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
4. Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
1.Strong communication public relations and interpersonal skills.
2.Drill team color guard cheerleading or dance team experience.
3.Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
