We are seeking a Data Specialist on our Pension Risk Transfer New Business & Client Transition team.
The Data Specialist is responsible for the data activities when onboarding new clients for the domestic Pension Risk Transfer market. The successful candidate will interact extensively with clients intermediary advisors and internal business partners to ensure an accurate transfer of data that results in each annuitant receiving the benefits promised.
The current EWA for this position is hybrid and requires your onsite presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be onsite.
Primary Responsibilities:
Managing large amounts of annuitant data incorporating data research merging functions sorting coding and comparison within Microsoft Excel and related systems programs for the purpose of loading data to PRT recordkeeping systems.
Day to day functions include:
- Create PARIS accounting record
- Create ALR / ABC accounting records via Master record program
- Review plan specifications related to specific client to determine data load strategy
- Interact with business partners (e.g. Valuation Pro Admin) to validate load strategy and ability to support downstream needs
- Receiving files in Microsoft Excel or text format reviewing for missing information
- Applying data to external search engine to identify potentially incorrect data
- Mapping data manually or via mapping software to Prudential data format
- Reformatting data fields as required by Prudentials data load programs
- Applying internal coding to data file
- Creating data sets within TSO mainframe system
- Running various system programs to feed data sets into ALR / ABC recordkeeping system
- Reviewing system output reports for errors
- Reconciling system output reports to original data received
- Manually update annuitant records as needed
- Create data extract reports to for client review response and signoff
- Run recordkeeping check writing miniseries to produce payments for specific contract when loaded after main check writing cycle
- Calculate and apply benefit increase data to ALR / ABC via COLA program
- Extracting data from the recordkeeping system to populate Annuity Exhibit templates with participant data
- Identifying list of demographic changes for New Business Pricing as part of premium trueups
- Determining technology solutions required to support new sales. Drafting business requirements serving as a business contact for questions reviewing and approving functional requirements conducting user acceptance testing and post installation check out of system installations.
- Partnering closely with other PRT teams to implement successful solutions
- Provide support as needed to other internal teams for plans recently onboarded to understand processes calculations and other specific needs for administering benefits under the contract.
- May support training and procedure development
Qualifications:
- BS degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum one year of Operations Financial or Accounting related work experience utilizing intermediate Excel functions
- 2 3 years of Retirement Industry experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Overall strong Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Selfmotivated and proactive
- Discretion to deal with confidential information
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to foster relationships with multiple departments
- Ability to work in a fastpaced everchanging and challenging environment
Primary locations are hybrid Scranton Newark or Hartford.
What we offer you:
Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $72900.00 to $108600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location candidate experience and skills.
Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program whereby an award if any depends on various factors including without limitation individual and organizational performance.
