Job Description

St John of God Healthcare at Home (HAH)offers a range of out of hospital services including hospital substitution and acute and nonacute services delivered by a multidisciplinary care team of nurses midwives lactation consultants allied health practitioners and support workers to assist patients recover at home after a hospital stay. The service provides more than 70000 home care visits each year and provides nursing chemotherapy and infusions midwifery and lactation support and allied health services in the home.

Your role at St John of God Healthcare at Home

We are seeking applications for a Nurse Practitioner to join our Medical & Oncology team on a permanent parttime basis.

This role provides leadership direction and management of our chemotherapy and infusion services.

The Position

  • Lead and deliver the chemotherapy and infusions service in the community setting liaising with the hospitals multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders in the delivery of a coordinated and integrated service

  • Demonstrate autonomy accountability and competence to provide comprehensive and holistic health assessment relevant to specialty within an expanded clinical nursing role.

  • Provide effective autonomous and accountable patient care that incorporates an advanced level of knowledge and skills in specialty within scope of practice.

  • Utilise enabling legislation and ANMC competencies to independently manage a cohort of patients.

  • Demonstrate a high level of confidence and clinical proficiency in prescribing a range of therapeutic interventions that are evidence based and informed by specialist knowledge and in accordance with clinical guidelines.

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of specific pharmaceuticals and diagnostic including pathology and radiology tests related to specialty that that are evidence based and informed by specialist knowledge and in accordance with clinical guidelines.

The ideal candidate will hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner. A Postgraduate Diploma or Master of Nurse Practitioner Degree is required along with a minimum of 5 years of recent extended practice and advanced clinical skills within the specialty.

Successful applicants must hold a valid WA drivers licence and National Police Clearence.

We can offer you

  • Salary: $132322 to $159392 (pro rata for parttime) per annum plus 11.5 Superannuation

  • Permanent parttime working 22.5 hours per week
