Risk Management is looking for an entry level Injury Counselor to be responsible for the investigation handling and oversight of incidents resulting in Team Member injuries. Under the direction of the Workers Compensation Program Manager the successful candidate will investigate claims and coordinate all related activity with UHaul Marketing Company management and the Third Party Administrator to bring each assigned claim to its best possible resolution.

Additionally the successful candidate will assist with administrative tasks and special projects within the department as assigned.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist injured Team members to ensure they receive appropriate medical care following onthejob injuries
  • Promptly and thoroughly investigate newly reported work related injuries to determine compensability
  • Thoroughly document essential information on each reported incident in UHaul claims management system
  • Coordinate with local UHaul management to facilitate Return to Work when feasible and appropriate
  • Manage all key components of each assigned claim to ensure optimum handling and best possible resolution
  • Assist in administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Empathetic with a desire to help people
  • Proven track record of accomplishing goals and exceeding expectations
  • Superb verbal and written communication
  • Basic knowledge of Workers Compensation and/or claims handling process preferred but not required
  • Organized with focus on attention to detail
  • Strong aptitude for technology / Handling of confidential information
  • Swift detailed followup on pending projects/matters
  • Ability and desire to grow in the position and take on additional responsibilities
