Texas A&M UniversityTexarkana will be pursuing an aggressive program growth agenda over the next five 5 years which includes the addition of a Master of Healthcare Administration program. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Healthcare Administration will be responsible for continued program development and teaching courses in the healthcare curriculum. The appointment will be for a 9month tenuretrack faculty member.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach courses in the MHA program.
- Student advisement as assigned.
- Active participant in program development renewal and revision
- Perform appropriate levels of service within the university region and/or with regional/national healthcare entities.
- Work with the Dean and MHA Coordinator to develop collaborative relationships with local and regional healthcare entities.
- Able to seek and participate in independent and/or collaborative extramurally funded projects and research.
- Serve on search committees for new program faculty. As time and budgets permit promote enrollment in programs on campus and in wider communities. Maintain program memberships or affiliations with relevant professional associations.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum QualificationsAssistant Professor Rank
- Terminal degree: Ph.D. DHA or DNP with 18 graduate hours in healthcare administration
- ABD will be considered but the terminal degree must be conferred by time of appointment
- At least two 2 years of healthcare administration practice experience or related healthcare experience
Minimum QualificationsAssociate Professor Rank
- Terminal degree: Ph.D. DHA or DNP with 18 graduate hours in healthcare administration
- At least five 5 years of higher education experience
- Record of scholarly work and publications
- Record of service to university community and region
- Record of higher education teaching excellence
Preferred Qualificationsboth ranks
- Experience using Canvas or similar LMS
- Experience teaching in program and curriculum development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience teaching at the graduate level
- Experience in national accreditation for educational programs
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
