Job Overview
Skilled Lab Chemist specializing in the analysis and quality control of Biofuels esp. Bio diesel & Edible / NonEdible oils.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in analytical chemistry proficiency in laboratory techniques and a deep understanding of the chemical composition and properties of biofuels & edible / non edible oils. This role is pivotal in maintaining the quality and standards of our products through rigorous testing and analysis
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
Proficient in using laboratory instruments and analytical techniques. Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a laboratory setting. Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping. Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the edible / non edible oil and biodiesel industry. Certification in laboratory techniques or quality control.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience working in a laboratory setting preferably in the analysis of biodiesel or edible/ non edible oils.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform routine and nonroutine chemical analysis on various substances including raw materials intermediates and finished products. Conduct comprehensive analysis and testing of edible / non edible oils and biodiesel samples according to established protocols and standards
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as gas chromatographs spectrophotometers and titrators and other analytical equipment for accurate analysis and testing. Utilize a variety of laboratory techniques and instrumentation for qualitative and quantitative analysis. Perform routine calibration and troubleshooting of instruments. Needs to be proficient in measuring parameters FFA Colour Viscosity Density etc
- Monitor and maintain the quality control of laboratory reagents equipment and instruments. Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the reliability of laboratory results
- Monitor and ensure compliance with quality control procedures and regulatory standards in the production of edible / non edible oils and biodiesel. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample collection storage and disposal. Prepare samples for analysis ensuring proper handling and adherence to established procedures
- Interpret and analyze test results maintain accurate and organized lab records and prepare data sheets log books and reports detailing findings and recommendations. Record and analyze data obtained from experiments and tests. Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing results trends and any deviations from expected outcomes
