Augustana University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach Mens Basketball. This 12month position supports all aspects of coaching the NCAA Division II mens basketball program including recruitment game preparation player evaluation academic coordination and practice/game coaching. The role involves fostering a positive training environment promoting team building accountability and the wellbeing of studentathletes. Additional duties include assisting the head coach with daytoday operations and managing the team including coaching defense/offense and recruiting studentathletes.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in all aspects of the studentathlete development and performance of the mens basketball program.
- Assist with organizing and leading preseason and offseason conditioning.
- Assessment and recruitment of studentathletes with excellent academic background to a NCAA Division II institution.
- Assist in scouting and inseason film evaluation and breakdown.
- Assist the head coach in preparation of a competitive team schedule.
- Support with the head coach in coordinating camps clinics and fundraising activities.
- Monitor academic progress and eligibility for the mens basketball program
- Serve as a leader mentor and role model to the studentathletes of the program.
- Abide by NCAA and NSIC rules and regulations.
- Assist in continued development of positive public relations with alumni and the community.
- Attend department meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a head or assistant basketball coach is required.
- A Bachelors Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree preferred
- Collegiate coaching and recruiting experience preferred.
Interacting with students faculty and leadership with different backgrounds and points of view and a deep appreciation of and respect for academic values and culture must be a top value of the candidate.
