Job Description
We are seeking an experienced API Consultant who has a background in coding but has transitioned into a more consultative and solutiondesign role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging with clients gathering API integration requirements translating them into technical specifications for the development team suggesting the best solutions in terms of technical implementation. You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and developers ensuring seamless communication and successful API integrations. Key Responsibilities: Client Engagement: Attend customer meetings to understand technical requirements for API integrations. Technical Solutioning: Analyze requirements and propose the best API integration approach following industry best practices. Requirement Gathering & Documentation: Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications including API endpoints JSON structures authentication methods and data handling. Communication & Coordination: Act as a liaison between clients and the development team ensuring clarity and alignment. API Knowledge & Best Practices: Utilize expertise in APIs JSON arrays objects and integration best practices to guide solution design. Knowledge about issues in APIs and their resolutions. Regular Followups: Maintain ongoing communication with clients through emails meetings and reports to ensure project alignment and expectations are met. Collaboration: Work closely with developers providing them with clear technical guidelines and assisting in troubleshooting integration challenges. Required Skills & Experience: Past experience in software development with strong knowledge of coding concepts. Handson experience with API integration including REST JSON authentication methods (OAuth API Keys) and data formats. Strong understanding of API design best practices and security considerations. Excellent communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Ability to create technical documentation and translate business needs into technical requirements. Experience working in Agile environments is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a Technical Consultant Technical Business Analyst or API Specialist. Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman Swagger or similar
